Tells me I have no internet connection when I know I do as my iPad works in wifi. I have to cancel the process and open again for it to recognize the connectio

For the past 2 - 3 weeks, I have been having issues with firefox not recognizing the internet connection. I know I have internet service because I can bring up Safari and it works fine as well as my iPad works well. I end up having to close firefox and then have to close the process as well before I can open firefox again. I have tried resetting (which I hate to do!) and it hasn't worked. This is something new and it's getting frustrating as I like using firefox more than I do Safari. I refuse to go to IE (it sucks) and I'd like not to have to switch to Safari although that is my backup browser.
