When I open extra tabs, the new tab automatically displays the sweetpack's URL and the sweetpack search engine. I have uninstalled every program and cookie related to sweetpacks. There are no add-ons or plug-ins related to sweetpacks. I am a new user of firefox downloading firefox just yesterday. The sweepacks search engine appeared to have come with the download of firefox. How can I get rid of sweetpacks?

Solução escolhida

Always download Firefox from the official site at www.mozilla.org. If that's where you got Firefox, then the malware was already on your system and it hooked into Firefox when it started.

The latter seems likely, since you don't have any malicious extensions enabled. See the following article. Be sure to update the various anti-malware applications before scanning your system.

If that doesn't solve the problem, refer to a forum specializing in malware removal.
