Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to Troubleshoot the issue and to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
I think you've just set a new record with four versions of Shockwave Flash. I'm inclined to think that you should delete them all and instal a new one. This may not be the cause of your current problem.

yeeees, always i like a good taste of humor
cheers alan.
btw, alan is correct keep only the latest version of Shockwave Flash and delete the others.
thank you
Thanks Ideato. I hope I didn't offend the original poster.
It can't be a good idea but I've never been able to establish the extent of the problems multiple versions of an add-on might cause.

Does a full house beat four of a kind ? ;-) I was helping a user, he had 3 versions of one program, and 2 of another. I have been seeing a lot of this of late, more than one version. Mostly with Adobe and Shockwave.
That's why Adobe has an uninstaller for Flash, they know the old version isn't removed as part of the update. http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
Mgold Please let us know if you have made any progress. Pardon the bit of fun. Have the serious comments helped? If not, we'll need to start again.

I did not have the auto option to report each and everyone, these are the ones but they are not all of the crashes I experience multiple times daily

I am not very computer savvy - where did you see I have 4 versions. I went to my install/uninstall and do not see it!
ok so I have followed all these steps for uninstalling and reinstalling new version (the weird part is that in the control panel, under install/uninstall, I only see the adobe flash once, and it is the new version I just installed, but in the addons/plugins I still see 3 total versions, the new one and two former ones - I went ahead and disabled them, though the terminology that it is used here is never activate - let's hope this works since I crashed again in the beginning of it all...thanks to everyone and it is ok to have fun...I just needed to understand how you guys saw I had 4 versions....I will keep you posted...
I followed the uninstall and reinstall procedures for the adobe flash player....so keep your fingers crossed - fun always welcomed
Well done. You beat me to the reply. Never activate is correct. My Firefox is now so modified I find it difficult to advise people on specific actions e.g. I don't know why but add-ons are not shown in my three bars set-up. It is, though, under the old Firefox button which I still have. Or under Tools wherever that might be. I'm not a keyboard person but Ctrl+Shift+a will do the trick, easiest of all. I do appreciate your fun welcome.
alan_r,
Hit the Alt key or F10 to show the Menu Bar, then Tools, then A or the Add-ons menu item in Tools. Or as you mentioned { Ctrl + Shft + A }.
I don't understand why Tools wasn't put in the 3-bar Open Menu Panel, since that is being "billed" as replacing the Firefox button.
the-edmeister Thanks for that. I was mostly unsure as how to advise other people. I've got alternatives galore. I've got an Add-ons button on my navigation bar and a full Menu Bar with Tools on my Title-bar. As I mentioned, I've still got a Firefox button in the top left-hand corner which includes Add-ons.
I need another computer with an absolutely default Firefox. I've never liked the default theme but I've knocked it into pretty good shape. So many changes have left behind themes that I've preferred like Charamel and Silvermel.
If you're on a Windows box, try installing Firefox Portable to your hard drive. It won't affect your "genuine" Firefox installation at all, but you're gonna have to "tweak" Portable to allow it to open when the "genuine" version is running. You need to edit this line in the FirefoxPortable.ini file: AllowMultipleInstances=false to true.
Mgold. I just needed to understand how you guys saw I had 4 versions
Go to the top of any of the post that you created.
Look for; Question details on the right
and under that; More system details
Hey thank you guys, it seems that following your instructions on the shockwave totally worked....no crashing or bashing or dashing....hehehe I know where to come now when I have an issue...your are all awesome and helpful....
thank you - I hope I do not seems dumb but for someone who is not so computer savvy, I actually have been learning a lot...I even though on my own to reset the system on a previous date, but that did not work...I went on line but everything seemed too convoluted...coming to this forum totally helped!!!!
