I never used conversation panel and I use Thunderbird since many years just for my e-mails. How can I close the conversation panel and get access to my e-mail. HI, Like many before me, I am trying to prevent message threading. I can set the default for NEW folders and accounts by changing the advanced settings. I have been unsuccessful in prevent threading in existing folders. I have tried the methods shown in https://support.mozilla.org/kb/message-threading-thunderbird AND THEY do not work. I have tried changing the view to "unthreaded" but that doesn't work.
Any suggestions on what might actually work would be very appreciated. David

Last week I deleted browser data & cookies (for a Microsoft account I use) & then I accidentally used an incorrect password to login to Facebook & they locked my account. When I tried to change my password they didn't recognize my device, which I've been using for MANY years. They also reject photos of my i.d. & won't tell me why because I'm apparently trying to communicate with an a.i. bot, NOT a human being. P.S. To make things even worse, I was locked out of my phone, which kept asking me for a password that I've NEVER set up. So I had to do a factory reset & lost ALL my data.
I've tried everything I can think of & I'm wondering if it's possible to get at least some of the data back?

Read Aloud is not producing sound in Thunderbird 128.7.1esr (64-bit), Windows 11 Pro. The app does highlight the text it is reading and progresses through the email, but there is no sound. I have checked various voices and tried to sound test the Piper voices. No luck. Windows Narrator (not ideal) will read the emails. I have checked every sound setting I can think of several times. I contacted Read Aloud support and they were unable to resolve my issue; they did confirm it worked in their Thunderbird app.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

From the moment i changed my mobile phone end august, which I used as internet connection for my 2 computers, connected by a usb cable to each computer, connection by cable is now on refused, so i had to install wifi connection which works. BUT => from my address michel.balawender@wanadoo.fr, host orange, thunderbird ask repetitively password, and refuses any sending. Once I had somebody to check : a new installation of thunderbird did work ... for 2 days. Then somebody did change my password at orange contract, (which caused hours for getting back again all messages); it worked for one day ... I have no problem with other mailing adresses for instance gmail. There after, my help message in french without any help from ubuntu forum. Thank you for your benevolence. Michel Balawender

Je reçois des mails, mais impossible d'en envoyer à partir de thunderbird. Un informaticien m'avait supprimé l'adresse mail chez orange, puis l'a re créée avec un nouveau mdp, sur chacun de mes pc.
Eh bien patatras, ça recommence sur le pc fixe d'abord (version thunderbird 102.11.0) puis le pc portable (version 115.16.0) est contaminé. Je suis passé entretemps de la 16.04 à la 18.04.6 sur le fixe, et suis sur la 20.04 sur le portable : je n'ai pas le sentiment que la version d'ubuntu soit concernée par le pb.
Il faut donc que je règle le pb créé par thunderbird. En attendant, je passe par l'application mail orange, ce qui est bien fastidieux.
J'ai fouillé sur le forum, sans trouver de piste. Merci pour votre bienveillance.

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I've been archiving my e-mail on my Synology NAS for a number of years now. However, my W10 desktop computer died last year and I've had to reinstall Thunderbird on a new W11 PC. I want to get access to all the archived e-mails on my NAS, that is, as they used to appear in Thunderbird under local folders year-by-year. I also want to be able to archive more recent e-mails to the same location. That is, I want to re-establish the same archiving process I had previously, complete with access to the old archives. I've tried to set up the same file path to the NAS under Local Folders in Thunderbird (as far as I can remember - I might not have it correct) but the old archives don't appear. in an attempt to identify the correct file path on the NAS, I've tried to archive a recent message as a test so I can see where it is stored - in Thunderbird the year folder appears under the NAS location under local folders as expected and I can see the message in the message window so it seems to be working but I can't see any new folders or files on the NAS - nothing modified or created with today's date. I have many mTLS website and few Client Cert.
Under "View Certificate” >> "authentication decisions" many entries have "Send no client certificate" but with no website. I suspect that this is a display bug and messed with a decision I remove earlier. I try to delete these "empty" decision but they stay.
What is the underlying DB/data file firefox uses in the profile so I can check maybe directly there. Maybe "cert9.db" ? or ClientAuthRememberList.txt or ClientAuthRememberList.bin?

I put some messages into folders yesterday and then created another folder and dragged the first folder into it to become a subfolder.
When I did this, I saw the new folder but it couldn’t be expanded to show the subfolders.
All other mail clients showed the correct hierarchy except Thunderbird.
Why is this happening?
Secondly, I post comments on the thunderbird blog regularly but they never show up. Where are they disappearing to? Are you receiving them?
When I am watching a show on Amazon, Firefox keeps freezing when a commercial comes on.
