Go to newegg.com and when I order an item and go to checkout it's not secure. V27.0 and V31.0
My version of firefox was 27.0 So I thought maybe because it was outdated. So I downloaded Firefox 31.0 portable. And it still has the problem.
It's one thing if it's not secure at the cart, but when I go to checkout with paypal below. It goes to paypal as a partially encrypted site. And it's not a problem with paypal. I can do this with ebay. I think it's newegg. I tried to contact newegg and all they told me on the chat was, clear cookies and try disabling firewall. That didn't work.
The error on paypal states this:
"Parts of the page you are viewing were not encrypted before being transmitted over the internet. Information sent over the internet without encryption can be seen by other people while in transit." Connection Partially Encrypted
I think paypal will encrypt after I login. But that's besides the point. It should already show encryption at the login screen just like through ebay or any other store I use. I mean does firefox work for encryption with newegg for anyone else?

Alright I tried a different browser. And that browser works. Seems to be an issue with firefox and certain stores.
The cart doesn't encrypt. But when you go to the actual checkout that is suppose to encrypt. So when you go checkout with paypal, or secure checkout. It needs to encrypt. With firefox it just says it's a partial encryption.
With another browser it says paypal is secure and encrypted. This seems to be a problem with firefox and certain stores. I remember having issues with this. So don't know what the deal is. I rather use firefox exclusively. And not switch to different browsers every time for certain online stores.
Please update to 31 (27 isn't secure and shouldn't be used).
If you still see the issue (I know you saw it in portable but that doesn't really count) let us know :)
Thank you for providing me help. But I'm getting the same problem.
I upgraded to 31.0. And still have the same problem. I even checked this out at my friends. Same issue at his house also.
It's very simple to reproduce this problem. No accounts needed. You don't need an newegg account to check this. And you don't have to buy anything. And you don't need a paypal account. (In fact log out if you do) All you have to do is this:
1. go to newegg.com 2. add item to cart (any item) 3. go to your cart (at this point I thought the website was suppose to be encrypted but it's not) (only checkout?) 4. Click checkout with paypal 5. Goes to paypal login page. Paypal appears without secure padlock stating it's not secure but partially encrypted
I would appreciate some feed back on this. As I don't know much about web development. I tried this in two different places. I disabled adblock. I disabled firewalls, etc. Well, please see for yourself if you can reproduce the same problem. Thank you.
I think this is a serious issue, because paypal is suppose to be secure, checkouts need to be secure the entire time. I don't know if it's because how a redirect link works, and some online stores don't take issue with it.
I use Newegg, but don't use PayPal, so I can;t see your problem.
Take a look at Page Info (General and Media tabs) on the page that shows partial encryption. Chances are that a content delivery network is sending advertisements to that page from an unencrypted server. Firefox tends to expect everything on an (supposedly) encrypted page to be coming from encrypted servers, unlike other browsers out there.
I said you don't need a paypal account to see my problem or any account. All that will happen is that it will redirect you to the paypal login page. Where you will see it's not encrypted. It wont actually order anything, as long as you don't login to an account and make a purchase. No accounts needed!
Okay, I'm checking page info, media and general tabs
the referring url is actually from a "http" as I indicated before because the actual cart is not secure. They don't make carts secure, but the actual checkouts have to be secure. The address token is "https" which is the link that takes me to the login.
checking media tab 11 links and they are all "https" 2 icons 4 background 4 images 1 embedded but they are all coming from https
Most of this stuff is coming from "https://www.paypalobjects.com" One from https://ssl-images.newegg.com" And then another from "https://www.paypal.com"
But yes, I get an exclamation mark stating the connection to this website is not fully secure because it contains unencrypted elements (such as images) But all the images are coming from "https"
