Today for the first time, when I tried to send an email it asked for my password, and when I entered it, it would not accept it. I tried going through tools, options and saved password, but none was listed. So, I can get my email but can't send. I called Time Warner, my isp, but my password works with my email with them, and they said the problem is Modzilla. So, how do I correct this, short of changing email providers?

Soluție aleasă

I tried that, but no password was listed - it was blank.

If you can still retrieve mail without being prompted to enter your password, Thunderbird must have remembered your (POP or IMAP) password. Check again: Tools -> Options -> Security -> Passwords -> Saved Passwords

Can you confirm you have verified your password via webmail?

What error message do you get when entering the password in the Thunderbird password prompt?

I'd be surprised if you can still receive mail without being prompted, when Thunderbird didn't save your password(s).
