I need to get my emails via Optus webmail, and can't
we moved house and have gone from Internet cable with Optus, to ADSL via Telstra. I can still see all our emails on Mozilla Thunderbird (from the desktop), but cannot reply to them, forward them, or create a new message. However, my webmail via Optus isn't showing any incoming emails, or Contacts. When I rang Optus they say its a setting on Thunderbird that's stopping emails coming in (and having no Contacts showing) on my webmail account, and to contact you to get it fixed. I don't mind which way we access our emails - via Optus webmail, or Thunderbird, but whichever way works, it must work as it used to, and right now neither way works the way it ought to - can you help please? Vicki.

If you used Optus as ISP and then moved to Telsa as your ISP. Then perhaps you are not paying for the Optus service, so it will have no incoming or outgoing mail. the webmail account will be inactive. Sometimes they allow a short period to get emails off the server, but if you left Optus then they have no obligation to maintain the account.
re: my webmail via Optus isn't showing any incoming emails, or Contacts. When I rang Optus they say its a setting on Thunderbird that's stopping emails coming in . Thunderbird has nothing to do with Optus webmail account. If Optus webmail viewed via a browser has no emails coming in then it is likely to do with you not paying for Optus service.
Thunderbird downloads from Optus, if optus webmail account has no emails or service has been stopped then Thunderbird will not download anything.
what you do not say is whether you had all your emails in IMAP or Pop mail account with Optus.
If IMAP then move those emails into Local Folders.
What you also do not say is whether you are still using the same email address or have been issued with another to use with Telsa.
Does Telsa allow you to use the email address you either used with or were issued by Optus?
Usually, if you stop using current ISP and they issued the email address, then the email address cannot be used via another ISP.
Have you set up a new email account to use Telsa?
