On some urls that appear in the address bar, a key icon and a rectangle icon with 2 dashes over the top appear to the left of the lock icon, What are they for? Thanks Greg.

Hi, I'm wondering if you are referring to the Plugin icon, which looks like a grey Lego brick. There is more about the Site Identity Button here - you can also see the plugin icon.

Hope that helps.

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

You can get a possibly colored Lego block icon on the left end of the location bar that indicates that Firefox is blocking a plugin.

That explains the rectangle, but what is the key icon to the left of the lego block?

Hmm, don't know for sure, although some time ago, I do recall seeing a red key in connection with AOL mail.
