Try clicking the links from the forum do they then work ok ? e.g
- getfirefox.com
- https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

It is possible you have a problem with Internet Explorer or with Malware or even the Internet Service Provider.
I am not sure how to enter a numeric address in IE9 but try 63.245.217.20 or https://63.245.217.20 does that work ?

Hi, please enter https://www.mozilla.org into the address bar, and do not use a search result. Firefox should never be downloaded from anywhere else, since other download sites may be bundled with unwanted junk
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.
I did as you suggested and still received the same error message. Thank you for your answer.
Hi Leone, Sorry you are still having problems.
Please confirm you downloaded from an official site.

OOPS Sorry I read your other question first and did not take enough notice of the Original Post here.
You should not be getting a 410 error message if you are trying the correct address or the blue links throughout this thread.
Are you following this by email or by looking on our website.

John99, I had tried clicking the link to Mozilla.org, which did not work. This morning I clicked the link to getfirefox.com and was able to download Firefox. This is the only link I have been able to use.
Thank you for you help and standing with me. I appreciate you very much.

Glad to have helped. We may have some further work to do to sort out your other problems.
Whilst we are not experts on Internet Explorer [IE] there may be similar or related problems with Firefox and sorting them out may help with IE issues.
- Have you now managed to successfully install Firefox ?
- Does that work ok with most of the links in this series of posts ?
- Does Firefox seem to work ok ?
Or do you have problems ?
Even If you are totally new to Firefox you should pick up how to use it fairly quickly, as major browsers now tend to be similar to one another, but if you are needing more help look at

This time I had sense enough to type Yahoo.com in the URL line and Yahoo came up, which means Firefox had downloaded correctly (this makes about 6 or 7 times I have done this). I did make Yahoo the home page, so I am not seeing the error message any more. This message had come up previously when I was browsing. More than likely there is a virus that is affecting this, and will be dealt with. There are a couple of issues, however I will work these out.
Again, thank you very much for standing with me during this mess. I do appreciate your efforts.
Thanks again, Leone
Here's the standard advice on malware. You may well have some sort of virus, adware or malware on your computer.
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
