Some times when my wife trys to open a new email it vanishes from computer and mail server.

Sometimes when my wife has attempted to open a new email on her laptop the email dissapears when she clickes on the subject and cannot be found in any folder including the Trash. When this happens it also is removed from the server. If she deletes an email normally it is moved to the Trash folder. OS is windows 7, Thunderbird is version 38.6.0, mail server is set to IMAP. This problem seems to be random, an email from a sender may open normally while the next email from the same sender is deleted.
