In your Firefox addressbar, type following url and hit enter: about:preferences#advanced

This will bring you options dilog box. Now click 'Advanced' from the left vertical menu. Then click 'Network' from the menu and then hit the 'Settings' button. From here click on the radio button/option that reads: 'Use system proxy settings', and click 'OK' and you're done!

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
