§When I click on the button to attach a file when I write an email , Thunderbird seems to hang/freeze and the only way to stop it is to click on the red cross. But the drag & drop file in the attchment Zone of a message is working fine ... How to solve/fix this problem . Thanks and excuse my bad english , I am French

What is your anti-virus software?

Avast Free Edition with only 3 agents activated.

Reading your message I tried the option  : disable all agents for 10 min , then trying to write an email and adding an attachment with thunderbird button , and the same hang/freeze occur : the waiting cursor (turning ring) of Windows 7 Pro . I don't have any specific add or customization on my w7pro x64 .
