I'm a novice (73 yrs young) using Xfinity/Comcast isp for 2 laptops and I'm needing help. Upgraded a old HP 6820s (Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5870) laptop (not this machine) from ubuntu 14.04 LTS to 16.04 LTS (both 64 bit) by selecting the upgrade button after installing software updates. Now Firefox/Thunderbird and Chrome won't connect to Internet. MESSAGE: (Firefox can't find the server at start.ubuntu.com).

This laptop I'm using to type works fine using Firefox or Chrome. This laptop had Windows 10 and I wiped it out and installed ubuntu 16.04 from a dvd. Everything worked after software updates.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi

This sounds more like an issue with Ubuntu that with Firefox or Thunderbird as it sounds like it is impact non-Mozilla software. I recommend that you contact the Ubuntu support forum.

I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look into a different solution for you.
