I recently found that Thunderbird is taking around 1.5GB of disk space to store the messages for offline use. I actually don't want them to be offline and I have turned off the option of saving the messages for offline usage. How am I supposed to delete the old messages that were stored offline. Can I just delete the directory '.thunderbird/<PROFILE-ID>/ImapMail/imap.gmail.com/[Gmail].sbd/' which seems to be having all the huge sized files?

Soluție aleasă

  1. 1. in thunderbird, unsubscribe the gmail "All Mail" folder.
  2. 2. The contents of that directory can be deleted, yes.

Note, turning of download sync greatly reduces your capability to search with ctrl+K = search messages in Thunderbird.
