Firefox will not work with Windows 10 after update.
Firefox has suddenly stopped working on my Windows 10 Acer laptop. I recently had the creator update but this didn't affect it at first, but now it simply wont load. I've deleted & tried re-installing Firefox about 10 times now, also tried the 32bit version but that is just the same. Its intensely annoying as I had come to rely on Firefox. What do I do..???

Hi, seems a pain especially since will be asking you to do the same again. Please grab a copy of your Profile and stash it away securely.
Then please do this : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Then please use this program :
Then please do this : Use the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut to open the Power User menu and select Command Prompt (Admin).
Copy/Paste the following command and press Enter:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Reboot after
Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 60.0.2 with a Full Version Installer
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Getting pretty cheesed off with repeatedly deleting & installing. Why should anyone have to keep doing this? Surely this is a Firefox compatibility issue? Thought there would be a simple fix for this.
Seems the issue is that Firefox wont close down properly so there's an instance of it running in the background hence it wont re-open. Whenever I have to uninstall it, I have to reboot the laptop in order to close it first or I cant uninstall. So in order to actually open Firefox then I have to reboot every time, which of course is not how these things should be..!!
OK did everything you recommended but it still doesn't work.
When it says it is running in the background open Windows Task Manager and End Task.
Profile : Make a new one and test ...:
If is your Profile :
Already used Task Manager, but although I close down in there, it still doesn't stop something running, which is stopping the program from loading. I am not an expert but I was reasonably knowledgeable up to a few years ago! I have no idea. I have the latest update of Windows 10, use Trend Micro personal, & Chrome & Edge work without issues. Never ever had a problem with Firefox before. Its usually the one which is reliable!
