Please help me.

Hello nomad89,

We would love to help you, but would you first please tell us what you have already tried, so we won't be repeating things that didn't work for you  ?

unticking hardware acceleration and start firefox without any addons (safe mode)

A complete stab in the dark (it could be many things) :

Maybe you need to upgrade your graphics drivers  ?

See : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

All my system, windows update, graphic card drivers etc are up to date.

Help from the link above doesn't work either.

A few more questions :

Does this also happen when you use another browser (providing you have tried using another browser of course)  ?

Does this happen on specific sites or randomly  ?

I was thinking that it might be OS related (saw it mentioned in some other threads), but as you're on Window 7 and not 10, that doesn't seem very likely (although not impossible).

I'll keep looking - in the mean time I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hoping that somebody else will come to your rescue ....

It doesn't happen on another browser. Also it doesn't happen on my PC but the problem occurs on my laptop (Lenovo Y580).

It appears on all pages / video movies (on browser only)

I'm using Win7

I have a Lenovo Yoga 500 and I'm on Windows 10 - no such problem (knock on wood), but that doesn't mean anything ....

I found this :

https://www.problogbooster.com/2012/01/screen-flickering-windows-monitor-display-flicker-flashing-laptop-screen-computer-graphics-refresh-rate-troubleshoot-issue-problem-fix-solution-solved.html

Any good  ?

Unfortunately not. My refresh screen is only 60HZ.

Bummer  ! No matter where I look to find a solution, it's always either hardware acceleration and/or graphics cards .....

I don't want to have you going through more useless articles, so I will leave you in the capable hands of my colleagues - somebody is bound to come up with the perfect solution for you.

Besides The screen refresh was also one of first things that I've checked. It has to be something with conflict of your browser and my laptop specs.

Does this only happen when you are scrolling the page?

Note that disabling hardware acceleration forces Firefox to use the CPU instead of the GPU (graphics display processor) and is more likely to cause such issues with scrolling. You can also try to reduce the Firefox window dimensions and make the Firefox window smaller to see if that has effect.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect.

I wrote above that it happens when Im scrolling the page (I can exactly see the horizontal line which is going from down to up - like in old games when you do not enable VSYNC on) and also in watching some movies on youtube etc. I will open win 7 in safe mode and see if problem occur

more options

Minimalizing or making firefox windows smaller didn't work. However, I've run firefox in windows 7 safe mode with network and as far as I noticed the flickering is still but it's a bit smaller.

Perhaps this:

"I know Yoga's are known to have a screen flicker problem and I've previously found the fix for mine 'Intel graphics control panel', press big power button, and then go to 'on battery' tab. Is 'Panel self refresh' option enabled? If it is then disable it."

From this Webpage.

Or, maybe this:

How to Fix Lenovo Laptop Screen Flickering Issue.

Or This Site.

Unfortunately nothing worked.

I don't have self refresh option in intel display management. All updates are up to date as I mentioned earlier.

( Its a shame that it happens only in your browser. For example in Chrome or Opera it works great but I would like to "stay with you"

Well, from my searching on Lenovo, there is history of screen flickering/blinking with the Lenovo computers. While some have it with FF, another user will say it works fine with FF but not Chrome, and so on. So, from my limited search... I'd put the blame on Lenovo.

"Your Browser". You're not interacting with anyone from Mozilla/FireFox in this Forum, as far as I know. We're all FF users like yourself. (Wink)

You need to search the Web about Lenovo computers to find an answer about the blinking/flicker/flashing problem.

PJ - I thought that support mozilla forum means that they (mozilla admins) are running it ;) Sorry for inconvenience.

I've checked many informations about lenovo but I don't think that here is the problem, because in older versions of firefox everything worked like a charm

It's possible a newer release of FF 'exposed' the Lenovo problem. It still may not be a FF problem. If it was a FF Bug-a-Boo, I'd think a variety of computer brands would have the problem too and this and other Forums would be flooded with posts.

Just saying. (Wink)
