Every Thunderbird update blanks Windows10 Task bar icon

Every time Thunderbird updates of late, the icon for T/B I have in the W10 Task Bar goes blank and will not load the program. I then have to reload the icon into the Task Bar at which point it works again. This usen't to happen but I am now seeing something like 20 episodes of this which implies that 20 updates ago something triggered this very frustrating effect.

Help would be appreciated. Rob

Does rebuilding the icon cache make any difference?
