Is there any way to delete a graphic or a table from a Thunderbird email?

I often need to copy lists from various documents and web sites and they appear in Thunderbird as tables, a sort of graphic, I suppose. While I can delete the text from such a table if it's not wanted or is incorrectly copied, I cannot delete the table structure.

Is there a way to do that?
