I cannot send emails. Whenever I try it asks for and then rejects the password. I have worked with my email provider and the only solution they can come up with is to erase the program and reinstall it. That makes me nervous as reinstalling a program for me has never gone well.

Erasing the program generally does not go well, let alone reinstalling it.

However if we are to talk about what might be the issue, we need information. Like what is the error message you get on sending, and what provider are you sending via.
