I have recently updated my Firefox to the 3.6.4 version but every time that I try to open it, it loads but freezes and all I can do is close it. I've uninstalled and reinstalled but this has failed to help.

User Agent

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US) AppleWebKit/531.22.7 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Safari/531.22.7

Agreed. 3.6.4 through 3.6.6 all contain the same bug that causes the crashing.

I just updated to 3.6.6 Every site I go to, Firefox crashes and is unable to produce a crash report. This is extremely frustrating as I have an older computer and Firefox is the only browser that WAS working properly.

Same here. Since 3.6.4 there's this issue. Can I downgrade??

has anyone tired to let a process access the Internet, if you block that from accessing the Internet then you won't be able to view video/audio content.

Process called - plugin-container.exe

enable that file to access the net. hopefully that solves some issues.

It freezes 50-100% of time on this page crash test page. It freezes ocasionally on other pages too, but I use this one as testing site. ;-)

Freezing started with the 3.6.4 and 3.6.6. updates...

When it freezes, small pop-up/alert box is shown (look at the attached pic) with no text inside. Memory jumps to 400+M (one tab), proc to 50%.

Flash is up to date. Treid everything you mentioned here, but no help. :(

Yeah still happening here on Windows 7 64bit using Firefox 3.6.6. BTW, I dislike the fact I'm running a 32bit version of Firefox is there a 64bit version too?

Same problem, as soon as I updated everything got unbearably slow and buggy. I'm even looking at this forum from IE because I didn't have 40 minutes to wait for Firefox to load each page. Reverting to 3.6.3, hope it works!

It's disappointing, this is the first big problem I've had with Firefox. Hope they fix it, I like their browser better but I can't play roulette with the updates, if they can't be trusted I'll have to switch.

Same, thank you for the link to 3.6.3, downgrading now!

Same problem here, latest Firefox will only work, for a time, when I restart the computer. poor shoe to put out an update which is less reliable than previous versions.

has to do with either JavaScript of Flash plugin - as soon as i disable them it at least can brows.

Even after going back to 3.6.3 it kept crashing on me. I switched to Chrome.

Updated to 3.6.8 - still crashes continuously even though I have applied all the above and uninstalled flash player and reinstalled manually.

I have had to switch to Chrome on 2 computers now.

Can anybody suggest a fix? This is the only browser Tor runs reliably on.

i cant even open firefox as soon as i try it comes up saying you firefox has crashed retry or exit

My Firefox CONTINUALLY crashes, usually in the middle of teaching a lesson at school. I thought it was the version, but I am upgraded to 3.6.12 and it is doing it worse than ever. I do not want to revert to Safari or Chrome because my students have been taught to use Firefox, but it's looking like I'm going to have to change the browser on all our lab computers if this continues much longer. It's extremely frustrating!!!

3.6.12 Is still doing it. Can someone look into what changed since the last working version, please? If you look at the change log, it should give you some incite into what the issue could be. It freezes up and stops responding as opposed to giving you an error. Specifically look into the code for tab switching. That's one of the main things that mess it up. At least the FireFox team is a bunch of thinkers since you make it so that we don't loose our work when it messes up. I like thinkers. You guys are one of the few people who know how to build something worth quality. Just please make sure you check your work thoroughly before releasing it is all I ask. It hurts your name when you act like you don't know how to program correctly and release stuff that crashes.

3.6.12, as well as most of the previous versions, crash constantly for me. I really hate it, as Firefox is my favorite browser, but I'm going to have to switch to Chrome, or even IE. Running Windows 7 64 bit. I'd say that about 5% of the time it manages to send a crash report. Most of the time, either it fails, or it crashes so bad it doesn't get to a crash report. While it might be related to Flash, it's not FLash that's crashing. It's Firefox. It's so bad that I tried opening only a few tabs instead of my usual 200, but it still crashed, and got so bad I had to use IE (Which I'm using right now).

My Firefox Browser will work for awhile, then all at once stop responding. Sometimes it will start working again for awhile but eventually it crashes and closes itself. There are other times I have to turn the computer off completely because it freezes up the whole computer, even when it is the only thing freezing up.

I do usually have 3 or 4 windows open with several tabs, but before I could open 10 or 11 with a whole slew of tabs without a hiccup, now it just goes without warning.

Using Firefox 3.6.13, and the latest flash plugin.

Browser freezes at a 100% rate when flash calls javascript to show an alert box.

Urghhhhhhhhhh! I'm forced to use Chrome. Please fix it asap.
