Trying to sync another computer to sync, but going from Tools to Options to Sync I can not find the Add A Device choice. have looked everywhere but can not find the frame that allows me to enter the codes from the second computer. Have installed the sync function on the first computer and have received a sync key.

What am I missing and where do I find "Add A Device"?

It sounds more complicated than it actually is but basically you will setup the additional device the same way as the first with the code it provides from the PC you are wanting to add to the sync flow. You aren't seeing the add device because you first need to select setup sync on the additional device & connect to your excisting sync account in which you will receive a code & see the add device.

1. Open firefox/tools/options/sync/setup sync 2. Under I already have a Firefox Sync account click Connect and the code to add this computer will be displayed.

Have set up and established a sync account on my desktop computer, but every time I try to add a new device I can't get the option of adding a new device...I just get the three box code to enter into the second computer.

On the second computer, running Android 3.2, I select Enable Sync, then Connect, and all I get is another three box code. I can't find a place to enter the code on either computer. I'm beginning to think there are issues with sync, or at least on Foxfire 6.0

How do I add a device to Firefox Sync?

Do these steps in Firefox on a computer that already has your Sync account set up.

1. In the Firefox Sync Account section, click on Add a Device and the Add a Device window will open.

2. Enter the code in the Add a Device window as it's displayed on your second device. Then click Next.

3. When the code is accepted you will see a Device Connected message in Firefox and your device will immediately begin syncing. Click Finish to close the setup window and go back to the Sync panel.

Thanks for trying to help solve a problem in Foxfire's sync function. I guess I haven't done a very good job describing the problem so I'll try again.

My desktop computer is running Windows 7 and Foxfire 6.0. I had no problem establishing a sync account and obtaining the Foxfire Sync Key. Now I would like to sync my Asus Eee Transformer Tablet running Android 3.2 and Foxfire 3 (for Android). On the tablet I go to Sync, then Connect, and get the three-box code to be entered on the desktop computer where the sync account was established. So far, so good.

I then go back to the desktop computer and in Foxfire click Tools, then Options, then click on the Sync symbol, then click on Set Up Foxfire Sync, which is the only option available. I am then taken to a page with two options: Create A New Account, or Connect. sunce I have already created an account I click on Connect. I then get a page with a three box code and am told to go to the other device (the tablet) and select Add A Device. Unfortunately, on the tablet the only choices available are Sync and connect, which returns a three box code. No where can I find a page or an option fo Add A Device and enter the three box code.

So, in summary, I can not find w page to Add A Device and enter the three box code on either the desktop computer or the tablet. If all else fails, I guess I can go back to day one and establish a new sync account on the desktop computer, or completely give up on the sync, which is a nice feature but one that doesn't work.

Hi!

You need to set up your account in the PC before moving forward with the mobile device.

To do so, select "Connect" as you are doing and then "I don't have the device with me" just below the 3 boxes.

You will need your account name, password and sync key. If you don't have the Sync key with you, select "I've lost my Sync key" to proceed after introducing your username and password.

After this you can proceed as mentioned in the article.

I hope it helps.

I'm having the same problem -- suddenly. After a long time with Sync working perfectly between my laptop, desktop and mobile devices, suddenly I noticed I'm not syncing. When I try to troubleshoot I get into the endless loop of each device telling me to add a device and not being able to enter the numbers in the other. I tried getting my sync key and entering it in one of the other devices but it tells me it's the wrong sync key (which I just got from the first device.) I'm about to give up. Your directions above don't work because no device has an option to enter the code, or if I do the sync key option I'm told it's the wrong one.
