The 'clear recent history', 'start private brosing' and 'clear history when firefox closes' have been disabled and are in grey instead of black type. I recently installed the Ad Block Plus anti-ad program - could this be the culprit ? How do I restore these please ? Many thanks for your help.

Why are you not upgrade your browser to Firefox 7

If you have enabled Always use private browsing mode, then the options you mentions will be grayed out since private browsing already does those options.
