Amazon seller central says I need java 6.1 or higher in my browser to use my Dymo label printer. How do I get it to work?
I am an Amazon seller and when I create a shipment I need to print out labels. I want to use my Dymo printer and Amazon recognizes the printer but every time I try to print I get the following error:
"Unable to load the printer Java applet. Please be sure you have a printer installed and Java 1.6 or greater is enabled in your browser."
How do I get this working?

On your XP system, could you check the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Then scroll to the bottom where the disabled plugins are clustered. Can you find
Java(TM) Platform SE 7
If so, try switching it from "Never Activate" to either "Always Activate" or "Ask to Activate".

Sorry, in the title I meant to say java 1.6
There has been a change in the Java security settings, see:
- "What should I do when I see a security prompt from Java?":
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/appsecuritydialogs.xml
If you visit a website regularly then a possible workaround is to add the URL to the Java Exceptions Site List, see:
- "Why are Java applications blocked by your security settings?":
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/java_blocked.xml - "How can I configure the Exception Site List?":
http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/exception_sitelist.xml
Hi and thanks, I still cannot get my label printer to print due to Java problems. I am using XP service pack 3 (maybe that's the problem). When I try to verify Java through their website I get:
"We are unable to verify if Java is currently installed and enabled in your browser. If you have installed Java and there is an error with the verification, there could be a configuration issue (eg. browser, Java control panel, security settings). Try restarting your browser before trying to verify the installation again."
I can get to my Java console through "control panel" but the tab for security setting does not have a slider to adjust the setting.
Any ideas? Thanks, Joe
Your post contains data that identifies as a Windows 7 system. Is that a different computer than the one with the problem?
The Java Control Panel is different than the Java Console.

Sorry about the confusion the computer that I am trying to get to work with my label printer is in my garage where I ship from and it is an XP.
I went to the plugins page and the only thing there that is Java I have attached in a screen shot
The Deployment Toolkit isn't useful by itself, I don't think. There are no disabled plugins if you scroll to the bottom?
In this thread, I made a series of posts with next things to check. I think that most of it is applicable to Windows XP, even though I wrote it with Windows 7 in mind.
