My personal address book is showing but I can't find or see my collected address book. Where did is go

I am using windows xp Imap mail Thunderbird 24.3 I only have a personal address book and cannot find the collected address book If I entry a new contact it gives me a choice between personal and collected . If I choose collected it takes all the info I enter but I can never view because I don't have that address book on my system

I think you need to set it to display the side panel.

In the Address Book, make sure View|Layout|Directory pane is checked.
