Why the crazy speedtest results using version 30.0?

more options

ever since I upgraded to 30, I keep getting crazy results when I run any speed test. for example, I have 50Mbs download, 35 Mbs upload service from Verizon FIOS. Sometimes, when I run speakeasy's speed test, I'll get crazy numbers... 54Mbs down / 1.2Mbs up. Or 3Mbs down / 2.8 Mbs up.

When I run the test from IE, I get 58Mbs / 34.9 . What's up with that? I have a couple of screenshots to illustrate this.

I assume these speed tests use the Flash plugin. Although Firefox and IE use completely different plugins (Netscape-style plugin vs. ActiveX control), that is nothing new to Firefox 30. But maybe some change around plugins could be affecting the test. I'm not sure where to start in researching that...
