After having my Firefox infected with some Malware that kept randomly redirecting me to other pages, I did a complete uninstall of FF, meaning I uninstalled the software, deleted all Mozilla Folders from my hard drive, and removed all Mozilla entries from the registry.

After reinstalling FF, the browser now won't load ReCaptcha anymore. I've been looking up what could cause this and have already tried several things, none of which solved the problem. I currently have no add-ons installed. I removed all cookies and cleared my cache. I ran AdAware and Super AntiSpyware, only the latter found infections which I had it remove. I started FF in safe mode and the problem is present there too. I disabled Hardware Acceleration just because I read it might help, but it didn't.

Another thing I noticed is that FF also won't load some other website elements, like images on the sides of reddit boards (see attached image).

You can check the Web Console (Tools > Web Developer) for error messages about blocked and unsafe and mixed content. You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.

Use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

Firefox 42+ has a Tracking Protection feature that is enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. When you are in private browsing mode then Firefox can show a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar that some content is affected.

You can disable this feature in "Options/Preferences > Privacy" or via the about:privatebrowsing page that get when you open a New Private Window.

  • Options/Preferences > Privacy: "Use Tracking Protection in Private Windows"
