I downloaded firefox 4 and now when I close a webpage firefox closes. Why?
After I open a webpage using firefox I can't close the webpage and leave the browser open. Both close.

If you have only one tab open, then closing that tab will close firefox also.

I would assume from your reply that I need to open two tabs before accessing any websites. This is something new. I have never had to open two tabs prior to this recent download. Surely a step backward.
No when you open firefox, you will get one tab in which you can open your sites. And if you want to close that particular tab, then firefox will be closed.
