Maybe you made a small error ? Info is for a Windows OS, so please say if different.

OLD PC: Exit Thunderbird - this is important. Access your AppData\Roaming folder : C:\Users\User Account name \AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird Copy the 'Thunderbird' folder to a suitable device eg: external hard drive, for transfer of folder - make sure device you use is big enough as the 'Thunderbird' folder will be large.

NEW PC: Exit Thunderbird - this is important. Access your AppData\Roaming folder : C:\Users\User Account name \AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird In the 'Roaming' folder, delete the default 'Thunderbird' folder. Then paste the copied 'Thunderbird' folder into the 'Roaming' folder.

Start Thunderbird.
