Can not open Firefox getting error message saying another page is open but there is not.

When I try and open my Firefox there is an error message that comes up that says Firefox is already running and I must close the other page but there is not another page open. I have shut down my computer and the message is still coming up.

Hi,

Maybe this is just a one-off solution:

  • Open taskmanager (ctrl + shift + esc in vista)
  • Go to "processes"-tab
  • Search and select firefox.exe
  • Click on the button "end task"
  • Try to open firefox again
