How can i stop firefox crashing, after about 5 minutes of use, typically with closing a tab?

Every time i close a tab, firefox crashes. This started happening about 2 days ago, and did not coincide with any updates or software installations. Sometimes firefox will crash justin regular use.

I have updated firefox, plugins, drivers and windows itself.

The crashes are caused by Norton software like Norton Confidential or Norton Identity Safe as can be seen by the coFFPlgn.dll or couictlr.dll in the crash signature of the crash report (bug 783369).

You can disable Norton extensions/toolbars in Firefox to see if that helps.
