Firefox updated and everything is going wrong.....

A few days ago firefox updated to its newest version (55 or something like that ) and when I tried to open firefox, it was dead slow and had massive problems loading ANYTHING and on top of that, all of my bookmarks were gone.

Fast forward a few days and I can tell you..... I've tried EVERYTHING to get it working again and nothing worked. I used every single youtube advise vid on the subject and nothing worked. I tried system restore and that only worked once ( another youtube vid helped because I was getting the same system restore error ) and it didn't work again.

I went to Mozilla's site and went through everything I could and that didn't help. I rolled back the update using internet explorer and that brought back my bookmarks but again I can't back them up ( keep getting a load error every time I try ). Now a new problem arose, I can type in any address and it wont load. Its not like it tries or its just slow, It simply wont leave the firefox startup screen and if I try to type in an address or use one of my bookmarks it simply will stay on the firefox startup screen and wont move.

.....Is there anyone out there that can help me..... I'd be greatful. At this point I'm becoming very burnt out and frustrated

Burnt out I can understand. Frustration when not finding help also. So let's try starting with it was dead slow and had massive problems loading anything. Give this a try: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-hangs-or-not-responding

When/if you return could you list the issues in sorta point form as a little trouble trying to work through all the issues as presented. Thanks

There is a extension called Fat-Free Fox but can not advocate for or against it other than it is there.
