Thunderbird 52.8.0 on iMac "High Sierra" 10.13.4 – all the default radio buttons on drop-down windows ("Save" "OK", etc.) have turned light gray. They are barely visible and I can't get them back to a color I can see!

Do the buttons work?

The default grey styling really pisses me off. My operating system's menus and toolbars are all bright and colourful, my addons in Thunderbird add coloured buttons, but the native Thunderbird buttons are grey, and amongst all the colourful stuff they appear as if they were disabled.

Look at the mozilla addons site for "complete" themes. These will let you select and use your own choice of colour scheme.
