Thunderbird email sending
I am receiving emails but unable to send, being told that the (BT) server has timed out.

Do you have any Anti-Virus which is allowed to scan outgoing mail ? It might be interfering and causing a delay.
Is this a simple email or does it have any images, links, whether in content or signature or is an Anti-Virus scanning email and adding it's own data to each email ?
Suggest : Access Anti-Vius and disable scanning of outgoing mail then test sending.
I've got a BT account and it's sending ok.
