PDF attachment 'print to PDF' saves 10 x bigger than original

Hi,

My bank statements is password protected. I save it via 'print to PDF'. That gets rid of the password protection. Unfortunately this makes it almost 10 times bigger than the original PDF file.

Any idea why this will happen?

Perhaps ask your distribution what odd things their print to PDF printer driver does. It is not a part of Thunderbird.
