My inbox has changed and only shows recent emails, where is my older emails still in the inbox.

Has your anti virus identified a virus in your mail? They routinely delete ALL mail in a folder when you tell them to fix such an issue.
You might try right clicking the folder and selecting properties, followed by the repair button. That will refresh the index. But it will do nothing if the mails have been deleted.
