If I set a Master Password on my Laptop will that 'lock me out' of my Desktop?
I sometimes let other people use my Laptop, and I want to ensure that they cannot open my emails etc. by just clicking on the "Quick Launch" icons which I have set on the taskbar. By setting a Master Password on my Laptop will that prevent me using my Desktop (to which only I have access) unless I also use the Master Password every time? - Once set up, does a Master Password restrict access on ALL computers, ANYWHERE, even Public ones (i.e. in a Library etc)? If so, it will be intensely frustrating every time I am using my own personal, private Desktop computer, having to continually enter the Master Password for every website I visit ... Please help me work out whether or not to set a master Password. - thanks in advance.

Setting a Master Password in Firefox only has effect on accessing the names and passwords that are stored in the Firefox Password Manager and not in accessing Firefox.

You need to set up one or more additional Windows user accounts if you do not want others to make changes or access your personal data.
This does not answer my query at all! I need to know this:- "if I set a Master Password on ONE computer (i.e. my Laptop) does Firefox "remember" that I have set it across the board, and will Firefox therefore need me to enter the Master Password on my OTHER computer (my Desktop). Your reply does not answer my query at all. I desperately need to know if I set the Laptop with a Master Password, does this affect ANY oather computer which I may ever use ... even, say, a public computer in (for instance), a Library.
A Master Password only works on the computer where you have set it and not on other computers.
All your personal data in the Firefox profile folder is only stored on one computer unless you use Sync to sync some of your personal data to other computers.
