what mail provider? Google and Hotmail/Live?outlook both ignore directions to delete mail unless you modify setting in your account on their site.

Thank you Matt It is my Gmail account and it had 35,000 messages in the inbox, but also a few more of my Gmail accounts also have a large number in the inboxes.

As I see it the only way to delete those messages is to keep on getting them in my email client (Thunderbird) or do you know of a better way to delete them?
