When I use the back button to return to Google after clicking on a search result, the page of results is blank. How can I fix this?
I'm using Firefox on a Windows platform at work. When I try to return to the search results, only the blank Google search box appears. This doesn't happen when I use Firefox on my MacBook .
I've had the problem for at least six months. I'm getting tired of re-entering searches. When I think of it, I use the search box in the ribbon along the top of the browser--then I don't lose the search results. But I'd like to be able to use the box on the Google home page without losing search results.
Thanks for your help.

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...
Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems
Interesting. I did a refresh and it kept happening. Then I launched firefox in safe mode as you suggest and it stopped happening. When I leave safe mode, it happens again. How can I find out which add-on is causing this?
could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...
If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing the problem by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via *"3-bar" menu button > Exit (Power button)
- Windows: File > Exit
- Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox
- Linux: File > Quit

Replying to cor-el: It worked in safe mode but it doesn't work in normal mode. Only one extension appears on the list under Tools > Add-ons > Extensions (Adobe Acrobat), and that's disabled. But the list I posted above shows three more, so maybe they're still working in the background somewhere? I'm not sure what to try next.
I still have the problem. Is there something I can do to fix it? I don't want to switch browsers.
