How to Delete Extension: Adobe Acrobat - Create PDF

System: Win7 SP1 with FF v.46.0.1 Adobe Acrobat - Create PDF 1.2 (extension) fails signing verification and is disabled. I want to remove it completely but cannot figure out the path. Unfortunately, the "remove" button is not available in the Add-On manager. That would be too easy. I have also searched the usual directories with in "Program Files" etc. I have also refreshed my FF install but have not reinstalled from scratch. I suspect this extension is not within the footprint of the FF install anyway. The mentioned tactics are all Google searches had to offer. To be clear - this is an extension, not a plug-in.

Can someone help me find the file path or registry entry to kill this out of my Extensions list?

Chosen solution

The Create PDF extension is in a program folder under the Adobe path, and Firefox finds it because Adobe's installer advertises it to Firefox in the Windows registry.

Is it really critical to remove it? If so, try here (based on my system) -- yours will be a version earlier than 11.0:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Browser\WCFirefoxExtn

Or if you are comfortable using RegEdit, check the Windows Registry under this path for the key that allows Firefox to find it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions

Hi FineCraft, The extensions can also be found in the about:addons page in a different tab. To hack the Firefox profile and to deleted the extensions file would be in this directory:

%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Extensions\

Thank you for the quick reply guigs.

I can see the extension listed in the about:addons - the problem is I cannot get rid of it. I went to my profile folder and deleted the "extensions" and "extensiopns.sjo" files from there. They were the only extensions related files I could see in that location. I restarted FF and the bad extension still shows in the list.

I believe the extension may be gone but the registry is messed up or a cache file is corrupt.

Suggestions?

Hi, try right clicking on it > Remove.

Right click only shows choices "About" and "Show more information"

Neither of which lead to a delete choice.

OK, bit of a long shot but worth a try: type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to xpinstall.signatures.required and double click to change 'Value' from True to False, then restart Firefox and see if there is a remove option.

Doing that should allow unsigned extensions to work - currently until FF48.

Scribe - thank you. Partial progress - the extension is enabled but I still do not see a way to delete/remove it. Right clicking etc ... nothing. I need to find where it lives. I think Adobe may have it parked in an unconventional location.

I ran across a way to trace the path to the extension but now I can' t find how to get back there.
