While checking an Internet site and listening when appropriate to the site's audio, suddenly another audio stream will appear on top of the appropriate audio. I have found no way to turn this separate audio stream off since I don't know where it is coming from or how it is piggybacking on the Firefox app.

The other might be from an ad. Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a good ad / pop-up blocker.
