Thunderbird is marking some emails as ***SPAM*** and removing the ".PDF" file extension from attachments but these emails are not spam. How to fix this?

Thunderbird is marking some emails as ***SPAM*** and removing the ".PDF" file extension from attachments but these emails are not spam. To be clear these emails remain in the inbox so TB is presumably not classifying them as junk. I do not have any junk filters setup. To read them I have to save them to the hard drive then manually add the ".PDF" extension back on. I have tested this by getting emails with attachments from the same source sent to a gmail account and viewed using webmail and this has no issues. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks John

Thunderbird does not use the word Spam or modify subject line to include the word Spam. Check with your providers spam filtering options or and anti spam software you have on your computer.

Thanks for the update information, most appreciated. I did some more checks and it is the Norton antivirus spam detector which needs to have and exception configured for some reason.
