While I'm trying to send and receive emails in Thunderbird some messages don't want to open and this message will appear in the lower right hand corner of my monitor screen:

"Server imap.pldi.net has disconnected. The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem"

I have contacted my ISP (Pioneer Telephone in Kingfisher, OK) and they claim to not be having any problems with the server. So they don't know how to fix it. I'm reaching out to Thunderbird support to see if there is an answer to this problem.

I have reset my router numerous times. Nothing resolves this problem.

This message appears about every five minutes daily.

Thank you for your help.

have you tried restarting your operating system without your anti virus product? One cause is these third party software products. Generally the idea is to restart using the operating systems safe mode with networking, as that automatically exudes all the startup junk windows is loaded with. That networking does require a wired connection as WIFI is not functional in this basic startup.
