After update to TB 102.x messages deleted by filter are counted as new in TB program bar

I have a very old TB installation, recently updated to 102.x. A single filter rule deletes (sends to trash) certain incoming messages.

Before 10x.x, incoming messages that satisfied this deletion rule did not affect the tb button on the Windows bar. With 10x.x, if say two new messages are send to trash by the filter, the number two appears in the tb icon on the Windows start bar. As though as if I have two new messages.

Is this a bug or a change in design?

A change in design I think from your description. Try setting the message status to read when you delete them in the filter. The default of that number is to show the number of unread messages in the account. The trash is "in the account"

Thanks @Matt. I also believe that this is a design change. Just to make sure though, I'll leave this open in case a dev responds; if it's a bug after all, then I should raise a ticket...

I've been thinking this over a bit. AFAIK, there is no platform software (outlook) or webmail (e.g. Google) that takes into account whatever gets deleted by filter. In all cases these messages do raise the new messages indicator.

Will report this as a bug, let the devs check this out.
