Hi, I want to add my Gmail account to Thunderbird. I'm sure that my username and password are correct, but I still get an error saying that I can't log in to the server. I read a few articles about OAuth on your support site, followed all the steps correctly, but I still can't add my Gmail account.

This can happen for multiple reasons, but my suggestion is to start over and do NOT enter password. Instead, wait until prompted for it.

hello!thank you for reaching out! Ensure IMAP is enabled in Gmail settings. 

   Double-check OAuth2 authentication settings.
   Remove any old saved passwords in Thunderbird.
   Test using Normal Password if OAuth2 doesn’t work.
   Use App Passwords if using 2-step verification on Gmail.
   Check your Google Account for blocked sign-ins.
