I had firefox set that each time I clicked on a web site listed in a Google search result, it would open in a new tab. Now for some reason it does not work and I can't find the setting.

For the Google website you can set your preferences on the Google Search settings page:

  • Number of Results: Google's default (10 results) provides the fastest results.
  • Results Window: Open search results in a new browser window.
  • Such details are stored in a cookie.
  • To keep such a setting you need an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep that cookie, especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
  • Make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

Thank you for the quick response. I forgot the issue was with Google instead of Firefox.
