After I upgraded to Firefox 7 (and 7.01) the Divx web player controls were not available when playing a Divx video on a website and the menu did not come up when I right-clicked on the video. I tried different versions of the Divx web player, including the latest, and the problem remains the same. Also, the video would only play but would not download automatically to the cache in the Divx movies folder on my computer while it was playing like it did before. I have re-installed Firefox 6.02 and everything works fine again.

Possible Solution:

(1st - this issue manifests itself in Firefox 8.0 also.)

Try disabling the VLC Multimedia Plug-in. It worked in Firefox 8.0 for me.

Not sure, but I think it might something to do with Firefox trying to stream a Divx file using the VLC Multimedia streaming player. When this plug-in is disabled Firefox uses the Divx web player like before. As to why this happens in Firefox 7 & 8 I have no idea.
