New window won't load in and says Transferring Data

Whenever I try to open a new window especially by clicking on a java script link or by clicking on a regular link that opens a new window the data will not load in and on the bottom it just says "transferring data." I have to hit the "reload current page" button at the top of the page if it is a new site, but if it is a java script popup window you cannot hit refresh at all.

What should I do?

What is causing this problem?

Make sure to use a normal left click if you open a JavaScript link and not a middle-click or use the context menu to open the link in a new tab.

This does not answer the question that I asked.

You can't refresh pages created via JavaScript.
You will need to rerun the script to achieve that and that can only be done by clicking the original link.

If it is a normal link then you may have an extension or security software that is blocking pop-ups if nothing happens.

Thanks cor-el, but that does not answer my question. My question is why does it keep saying Transferring Data and not load in the page?

When I try these same URL's using the Google Chrome browser, the pages load in quickly. Firefox does not, and the new release did not fix this problem.

Does anyone know what I can do about this?

That website does not help because it is for these types of errors:

The document contains no data" and "The connection was refused when attempting to contact..." or an error page may tell you that the server could not be found or that the connection has timed out.

and it does not address why it continues to say "Transferring Data" for so long.

Possible candidates are DNS problems or extensions or security software causing problems.

Possible candidates are DNS problems or extensions or security software causing problems is not the problem. It is something to do with Firefox loading in pages.

I need a representative from Firefox to help me figure this out.

I fixed a very similar (maybe the same) problem by creating a new profile. See if this helps you: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../912558#answer-302907

I would not know where to begin creating a new profile.

Lucky for you, you have support.mozilla.org! :)

There's the Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles article, as well as the Recover important data from an old profile article.

However, I would try the steps in the Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems article first.

Good Luck!

Nobody even began to answer my question. I am very dissatisfied and don't know what to do other than removing Firefox from my computer completely and trying to reinstall it.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

When I used safe mode in Firefox the new windows loaded

I removed Firefox from my computer. I reinstalled Firefox.

Strangely though when I reinstalled Firefox these Add Ons are still showing up as disabled: Move Media Player 7

Microsoft Net Framework Assistant 0.0.0

McAfee ScriptScan for Firefox 14.4.1

Java Quick Starter 1.0 DivX Plus Web Player HTML 5

How did these Add Ons get into my new Firefox browser after I removed Firefox and reinstalled it?

I am looking for a button that says "Remove" which I highlight an Add On, but I cannot find a "Remove" button and it seems to be missing.

Where do I find the remove button?

Do I need to Remove my Add Ons that are disabled?
