Flash player stops
This is more of a solution than a question...
I was running Firefox 17.0 and flash player 11.5.502.110. When trying to watch a video, whether on you tube or something included in an email, the video would freeze but the audio portion will continue. As soon as I moved my mouse, the video would catch up to the audio. both would play in sync for a short while then the video would freeze again.
I solved the problem by installing Flash Player 10.3.

hello jim, it would be interesting to know what security software (anti-virus/firewall/etc.) is running on your pc? maybe it is somehow interfering with the sandbox that adobe has introduced for its flash plugin for firefox since version 11.3....
Firewall is off. I'm using the latest versions of AVG and Superantispyware. Can't say how these affect FP all I know ie FP 10.3 works.
Modified
ok, as far as i know those two shouldn't be an issue... this also is discussed at the adobe forums & there the solution given is also to downgrade to version 10.3 of the plugin at the moment: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4500293
You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
- disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
- disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
- disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
Thanks. Don't have realplayer installed. How do I disable 11.3 protected mode? Tried disabling hardware acceleration, Didn't help
