Hey there,

This is no big deal, more a minor hassle but recently the little (1) or whatever number that would appear on the Outlook.com tab to let me know I have new emails has stopped appearing. I receive the emails just fine, but now I have to switch over to the Outlook tab to see if I have any emails since the tab has stopped telling me there's new ones in there.I had asked this on the Microsoft help forums which led me to try another browser to see if the problem persists. I receive the notifications in Chrome which makes me think it's a Firefox problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi unknowncheese, I am not an outlook user, but on the corp email I still get reminders and notifications from the email tab that I leave open. It may be a saved preference.

Try this:

  1. Go to [about:permissions]
  2. search for "outlook.com"
  3. Check if notifications are permitted for the site
