https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/

It is capable of importing Thunderbird's own mailbox files. Thunderbird's mailstores use a variation of the mailbox file format, though they don't use the .mbx extension. Your files may be similar enough for this add-on to be able to parse them.
